Over six decades on since its debut, LEAK has announced the return of the iconic Sandwich loudspeaker line-up.
Continuing its return to modern hifi, kickstarted in recent years with the Stereo 130 and 230 integrated amps plus CDT CD transport, LEAK’s new Sandwich 150 and 250 loudspeakers take their inspiration from their 1961 ancestor.
The original model still boasts a respected reputation today for its stiffened sandwich layered mid/bass driver that, back then, brought unheard of levels of stiffness and performance.
Both new models are standmount designs, with the smaller 150 model being a two-way loudspeaker with a height of 41.5cm, while its bigger three-way 250 brother stands at 65.5cm tall.
The Sandwich 150 incorporates a 30mm textile-dome tweeter and 170mm mid/bass driver with an aluminium/foamcore sandwich cone, while the 250 variant combines the same tweeter with a 280mm bass and 108mm midrange driver, both formed from the same aluminium/foamcore material.
The Sandwich 150 costs £999 per pair, while the Sandwich 250 comes in at £1,999 (£2,299 with dedicated stands).
