Cambridge Audio has announced two new turntable packages as part of its Alva range, in the guise of the Alva TT V2 and Alva ST.

Alva TT V2

Costing £1,700, the Alva TT V2 is a direct drive turntable crafted around a heavy aluminium top plate and polyoxymethylene (POM) platter, with pre-installed Alva moving coil cartridge and aptX HD wireless Bluetooth streaming capabilities up to 24-bit/48kHz.

It also sports a brand-new tonearm with detachable headshell and internal switchable phono stage.

Alva ST

Priced at a more competitive £850, the Alva ST is a belt driven turntable with a 1mm aluminium top plate, and a layer of vibration absorbing EVA sitting on top of its MDF plinth. It comes pre-installed with an Audio Technica AT-VM95e moving magnet cartridge and also packs a switchable, built-in phono stage plus aptX HD wireless hi-res streaming.
