SL-1210G Direct Drive Turntable.

Fab four

Technics has reaffirmed its commitment to hi-end audio with the release of not one, but four new hifi products including an amplifier, standmount and floorstanding loudspeakers and the latest iteration of its legendary direct drive deck.

The L-1210G Direct Drive Turntable takes all the technical elements of the SL-1200G and encases them in a minimalist black plinth and finish.

Key features of this retro inspired vinyl spinner include an iron-coreless direct drive motor, robust tonearm with precision bearings, three-layer platter with vibration-damping that’s individually balanced, and a rigid cabinet with silicone insulators to null vibration.

Digital by design

The new new SU-G700M2 integrated amplifier updates the brand’s SU-G700 predecessor with Technics’ latest tech, including its digital JENO Engine (Jitter Elimination and Noise-Shaping Optimization) and LAPC (Load Adaptive Phase Calibration) for optimal speaker matching, alongside an inbuilt MM/MC phono stage.

Completing the line up are two new loudspeaker models including the SB-G90M2 three-way bass reflex floorstander, featuring a two-way coaxial driver with a 25mm dome and 160mm aluminium midrange cone, accompanied by two 160mm aluminium woofers (below right).

The SB-C600 standmount model (above left) is a compact two-way bass reflex speaker with a coaxial drive unit made up of a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter and 150mm woofer, sat above a front firing bass port.
